Queensland Cotton Environmental Policy

Queensland Cotton’s policy is to design, develop and implement an environmental management system that will provide a safe environment without any undesirable impact on the company and the environment.
To uphold the Queensland Cotton policy, all stakeholders will take collective responsibility for the effect of our work activities on the environment. In support, Queensland Cotton will strive to:
- Develop an environmental performance that will meet legal requirements
- Manage and continually improve our environment
- Comply with the best practice environmental standards
- Monitor and communicate our environmental performance
- Educate our people to be environmentally aware and to participate in our environmental management programs
- Encourage environmental sensitivity in our contractors, partners and suppliers
- Reduce and restrict the generation of waste products known to be deleterious to the environment, and where practical to use the waste management hierarchy (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Treat or Dispose)
- Prevent and reduce the risk of emissions of pollutant substances in the event of incident or accident
- Develop and implement contingency plans applicable to the control and correction of environmental incidents that could reasonably be expected within Queensland Cotton scope of activities.
