Welcome to Queensland Cotton
Queensland Cotton is a Leader in the International Cotton Market.
We are a major supplier of premium cotton to the world's textile markets. Our company's success is attributed to quality products, services and valued relationships with suppliers, growers and cotton spinners.
At Queensland Cotton we regard ourselves as supply chain managers rather than a traditional cotton merchant. We play a key role in linking cotton producers and our spinning mill customers. We specialise in all stages of the marketing process including the financing, acquisition, risk management, sale, classification and storage of processed cotton.
Our experienced marketing team works hard to maintain and build customer based culture and remains focused on adding value. Our range of services assists growers to improve the fibre quality they produce and helps to ensure the product meets the specifications required by the spinner.
Our business has diversified to now include the buying and selling of other agricultural products being pulses, grains and wool. The basic supply chain, risk management process and logistics involved are the same for these products as it is for cotton. Our focus in each of these product businesses remains the same, that is to use our knowledge and expertise to assist farmers to obtain a fair price for their produce. This in turn provides us with a consistent premium product that can be delivered to the market to meet the needs of our customers.
Queensland Cotton’s principle activities can be divided into four different product groups:
- Cotton – processing or ginning of seed cotton, the marketing (purchases and sales) of cotton and cotton seed;
- Pulses – the accumulation of pulse crops and the cleaning, dressing, grading and distribution of these crops;
- Grains – buying and selling of grains;
- Wool – buying and selling of wool.
Through Olam Orchards Australia (a subsidiary of Olam International), we are Australia’s largest almond grower, managing over 30,000 acres of orchards in the Sunraysia area of Victoria. Our processed almonds are sold on both the domestic and international market.
